Workplace Conflict Resolution Training Course
Resolution Education is a U.S. specialist Workplace Violence Prevention Training provider, and our conflict resolution training for employees, managers, supervisors, HR and teams focuses on resolving conflict between colleagues within your own team.
What is Workplace Conflict Resolution Training?
Workplace conflict resolution training teaches managers, supervisors, HR and staff how to recognize, address and resolve conflict between colleagues before it damages working relationships, productivity or team culture. It covers why conflict happens, how different personalities respond to it, how to hold difficult conversations, and practical steps for reaching an outcome both sides can accept.
Unresolved conflict at work is costly. It drives lost productivity, absenteeism, staff turnover and a poor work culture, and left unchecked it can escalate into bullying, harassment or worker-on-worker violence.
This course focuses on conflict within your own team. If your staff are dealing with aggression from customers, patients or the public, our de-escalation training is the better fit, and for an organization-wide approach to threats and violence, see our workplace violence prevention training.

Conflict Resolution vs De-escalation vs Workplace Violence Prevention Training
These three types of training are related, but they solve different problems:
- Conflict resolution training deals with disagreements between people who work together. It focuses on root causes, communication and reaching a solution both sides can accept, ideally before emotions boil over.
- De-escalation training deals with someone who is already agitated, angry or aggressive, most often a customer, patient, client or member of the public. It focuses on calming the person in the moment and keeping everyone safe.
- Workplace violence prevention training is the organization-wide program. It covers risk, policy, reporting and the response to all types of workplace violence, including violence between co-workers.
Many organizations combine them: conflict resolution for managers and teams, and de-escalation for frontline staff, as part of a wider workplace violence prevention plan. For more detail, read our article on conflict resolution vs de-escalation training.
